Τα  προϊόντα πετροβάμβακα είναι ικανά να αντέχουν σε υψηλές θερμοκρασίες. Το συνδετικό υλικό αρχίζει να εξατμίζεται όταν η θερμοκρασία του υπερβαίνει περίπου   200 °C. Οι μονωτικές ιδιότητες παραμένουν αμετάβλητες, αλλά η θλίψη στρες αποδυναμώνει. Η θερμοκρασία τήξης των προϊόντων πετροβάμβακα είναι πάνω από 1000 °C.
